Child Dedications at GraceValley are a meaningful step where parents commit to raising their children to know and follow Jesus. It’s a moment to celebrate and be surrounded by a church family that will support and walk with you. From the start, we’re here to help build a strong spiritual foundation—together.
Register for the upcoming Child Dedication Sunday
No. We believe that a child must be old enough to understand what it means to put their faith in Jesus Christ before they can be baptized. Child Dedication is an opportunity for you as parents to publicly declare that you want to raise your child to develop their own relationship with Jesus Christ.
Child dedication is not a requirement from scripture. However, we believe that widening the circle of adults in your childs life is important to help support you as you raise your child to follow Jesus.
Parents of children getting dedicated at GraceValley Church must be attending regularly and engaged in the life of the church.
The dedication event is hosted in the main sanctuary as part of the Sunday Worship Experience.
At the end of your registration when you select "Submit" you will receive a brief confirmation message. We will contact you the week before the Dedication Sunday to confirm any details with you. There is no limit to the number of dedications on a Sunday so you are guaranteed a spot.
The dedication moment is about 10 minutes per family. Families will be invited to the front of the stage on the main floor. While facing the speaker, parents will be asked a simple question affirming their commitment to raise their child according to God’s Word and to do all they can to give them the opportunity to know and follow Jesus. A simple response of “Yes” is all that is required.
The second part of the dedication involves our church family. The congregation will stand to commit to supporting you, praying for you, and providing a loving church community where your child can grow in faith. A prayer will be offered over your family, dedicating your child to God and commissioning you in your role as parents, with God’s Word as your guide. Each child will receive a special, age appropriate gift at the close of the prayer.
Invite your friends and family to celebrate with you. They are welcome to take photos and videos from their seats. Our Capture Team will be taking photos of each dedication, which will be available on our Facebook page within 24–48 hours. The worship experience will also be streaming live, allowing distant family and friends to celebrate with you from their phone or computer.
Wear whatever you and your little one(s) will feel most comfortable in. Some people dress casually in jeans, while others dress up more. It is up to you. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the service start and sit near the front in the center sections, allowing easy access to the platform.
